Thinking of a thrilling Safari just minutes from your city hotel and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport! Nairobi National Park is the place to be, unique by being the only protected area in the world with a variety of animals and birds close to a capital city. It covers an area of 117 km2 approximately 7 kilometres south of the centre of Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city.

Nairobi National Park has a wide variety of wildlife including the endangered black rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and diverse birdlife with over 400 species recorded. Nairobi National Park is credited for its rhino sanctuaries that are already generating a stock for reintroduction in the species.Due to this success, it is one of the few parks where a visitor can be certain of seeing a black rhino in its natural habitat. There are guided walking trails to the hippo pool to view these immense creatures and possibly crocodile as well.

Another special site we’ll visit is the Ivory Burning Monument. At this historic spot tons of ivory seized from poachers have been publicly burned to protest the ivory trade and as a commitment to protect the country’s elephants.
