Throughout my childhood I always longed for the day I would tour my own country Kenya since I never had the privilege to. In 2013, it was a dream come true, my thirst was first quenched by a summit to Mt Kenya. In the following years I travelled to Masai Mara which is Kenya’s top tourist destination, popular for having the 7th wonder of the world the Wildebeest migration, the Aberdare’s Ranges and National Park in central Kenya, Mombasa City the Kenyan costal city popular with beach lovers and the Old Town inhabited by a mix of local Arabs, Asians, Portuguese and British settlers, the Great Rift valley with breath taking views of escarpments and lakes including the hot springs Lake Bogoria. I also learnt a lot from the different Kenyan tribes and cultures which are forty four in number. I appreciated the diversity and the Kenyan spirit; we are all very friendly and warm people.
Travelling became my new breathe and life, prompting me to always do at least two new destinations in a month. I ended up starting a Travel company with my Friend Geoffrey from Belgium. I meet Geoffrey during my 3rd Summit to Mt Kenya.
When I graduated from campus, I took time and wrote down what I wanted to do in my life and right from then, I knew I wanted to venture into business in a way that would impact people’s lives positively and at the same time contribute to sustainable development in Kenya and beyond. Over the years, I have undertaken various business ventures which have helped me to cultivate the marketing and business development skills that I continue to apply to date.
I joined Kibaria Tours and Travel as a business development officer in August 2019. What I love most about my role is the opportunity I get to be creative in coming up with products and/or services that meet current and emerging market needs. Thinking about the great things we can accomplish within the tourism industry and beyond makes me very excited as we keep developing new products for the market. I definitely look forward to every milestone we will achieve as a company as we transform lives through our work.
I have always had an insatiable need to travel not just in my home country Kenya but across the globe. Travel in my opinion leaves you speechless then turns you into a story teller. Writing has always been a part of travel all the way back to the historical times. Travelers were the best story tellers as they let the rest of the human race know what was happening beyond the unknown. The truth is people forget years but remember the moments. Writing is meant to capture the moments and preserve them for eternity. We travel not to escape life but for life not to escape us because even though adventure may be dangerous, routine is much more lethal.
The biggest lesson travelling has taught me is that it is better to see something once than to hear about it a thousand times. My zeal to travel was greatly curtailed by financial constraints. I found most travel packages to be quite costly then I began to take a keen interest on local travel agencies. In 2018 I made a resolution to visit as many new places as possible and it is in pursuit of this that I came across Kibaria Travel. Thanks to them I have come across some of the most beautiful places and beautiful people in the world. My desire is to tell the tale of all the adventures Kibaria Travel aims at giving to its clients. We have every intention of giving the most out of the least. We want to show you the world in a lens you have never ever seen before. We will strip off every layer of uncertainty that you have and let you experience the best moments you will never forget. Truth be told you don’t have to be rich to travel well.
After Amsterdam and Brussels it was time for a new adventure: Africa! I ended up in Nairobi thanks to my current girlfriend. Smiling faces, crowded streets, chill vibes. Nairobi is mine! I felt like a fish in the water. This is it! After a few months of traveling through East Africa and having experienced the coolest experiences, I realized that this is a beautiful piece of world where there is so much to discover.
I have to share this with other people. And so it happens. I started a travel agency with my Kenyan friend Alex. We realized that the demand in Africa is quite mainstream: safari-lodge-beach. This is very expensive and unsatisfactory. This can be done better, much better. We offer the “real Africa, with us you do not get a chewed up trip but a truly unique African experience. I hope we can soon share it with you!
A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. Thousand unknown plants are noticed by me. When I hear the buzz of the little world among the stalks, and grow familiar with the countless.
This couldn’t withhold me from giving my expertise to making Kibaria Travel live to its mission and purpose. Our aim is that all our clients are satisfied and can reach us with ease.
We always make your tours and Safaris memorable.
